Although all the Smithsonian museums are free in DC, many museums across the country charge quite a bit for admission. On September 25, 2010, Smithsonian museums and its affiliates across the country are offering free admission to participating museums. This applies to museums all over the place including museums in Beacon and New Paltz (I hope you're reading this E!)! All you have to do is sign up online, and our friends at the Smithsonian Magazine will send you a ticket good for free admission for two people.
